Not everything caught in a net is a fish. This summer, limited-edition clothing and accessories made from the artisanal nets of Angeiras, a fishing village in northern Portugal, are arriving.
Parfois draws on Angeiras fishing nets
Portuguese clothing and accessories brand Parfois has unveiled a summer capsule collection inspired by the handcrafted fishing nets used in Angeiras, a Portuguese fishing village. Featuring a skirt, a shawl and even bags made with the distinctive mesh patterns of fishing nets, the Portuguese label presents one-of-a-kind pieces intended to combine "artisanal craftsmanship with a sophisticated, contemporary aesthetic", according to the press release.
"Vibrantly coloured nylon details add contrast and character to every design, creating unique combinations that make each bag an unrepeatable piece," the same statement sent to newsrooms adds. The collection consists of limited pieces and is available to buy exclusively online through the Portuguese brand's platform.
Summer swimwear and accessories
To complete this unexpected summer look, Parfois has also introduced a broader swimwear collection comprising "beach dresses, printed shirts, hats, shell-inspired jewellery and summer bags".
