Xiaomi Mijia High-Speed Water Ion Hair Dryer Pro unveiled

Display, time-of-flight camera and intelligent scalp protection

Xiaomi has unveiled the new Mijia High-Speed Water Ion Hair Dryer Pro (model number GSHS4PLX) on its Youpin platform. Pre-orders for the device open tomorrow, with the new model priced at 799 yuan ($120).

The hair dryer will be available in three colours. Its body has a metallic pearlescent finish, while controls include a colour display and an aluminium temperature dial on the handle.

The model’s key feature is its dual scalp-protection system. Xiaomi has equipped the dryer with a ToF sensor that monitors its distance from the head in real time and automatically adjusts the air temperature within a safe range. The device also incorporates Water Ion technology, which the company says can help improve the scalp’s microenvironment. Its power rating is 1600 W.
