La Rosée Compact Powder: The French Pharmacy Trend

A new compact powder is currently creating a buzz in French pharmacies. Its formula combines the feel of skincare with make-up, is designed to refine the complexion for eight hours and, according to the brand, sells every 20 seconds. The trend is now reaching German-speaking markets too, as the concept answers a growing demand: fewer layers, less time in the bathroom and a naturally polished-looking complexion.

La Rosée, a brand best known in France for its minimalist skincare, launched its own “Skincare & Make-up” range in 2025. At its centre is a compact powder that looks like a conventional make-up product, yet its formulation is closer to contemporary facial skincare.

The powder is intended not only to provide coverage, but also to mattify, smooth and retain moisture – all in one step, without a mask-like finish.

The ultra-finely milled texture feels almost weightless when applied. It is aimed at people who want a more even-looking complexion without wearing a heavy layer of foundation. For everyday wear, the office or a quick touch-up after work, this approach fits a beauty-industry trend seen everywhere: fewer layers and more multifunctional products.

Natural pigments instead of a heavy foundation layer

For this powder, La Rosée uses pigments that, according to the brand, are 100 per cent naturally derived. They are designed to sit evenly on the skin without clogging pores or settling into fine lines. Unlike traditional foundations with high coverage, the formula instead works with a “soft-focus” effect.

As a result, the complexion appears:

  • more even, as redness is visually reduced.
